Walleye Charters on Lake Erie | Lake Erie Fishing Charters | Sweet Escape Charters

Fishing was great this Memorial Day weekend aboard Sweet Escape Charters.  On Saturday, we captured 42 walleye trolling southwest of D-Can using scorpion stinger spoons on 40-50 ft leads.  Day started off slow but ended with a bang.

On Sunday, we had a short crew of 4 guys and myself.  We got our limit of 30 walleye caught trolling with scorpion stinger spoons on 40-55 ft leads.  Started the morning off in the same location as Saturday but could not get them to bite.  Head a little nortwest of the area towards Flatrock Reef and got into some very nice fish.  No pic of the limit but most of the walleye caught were around a 5lb average like the one Johnny has here.

On Sunday, the same group managed to capture another limit trolling northeast of Niagara Reef in 30 feet of water.  Had to move the leads a little deeper to 60-75 ft leads.  Finished the day around 11:30 a.m.  Johnny and Spider wanted to pose with some awesome Sweet Escape Charters attire and show the great time they had catching some great walleye.

Lake Erie Walleye Fishing Report | Sweet Escape Charters | Lake Erie Fishing Charters

Well 4 of us finally got out on a decent morning with no wind and managed to capture 13 nice walleye.  The morning bite was much better than mid morning.  We had 11 of our fish by 9:30 starting around 7:30, the remaining 2 walleye came very slow quitting around 1:30.  Overall we had a great day and fishing partners were great.  Walleye were caught on jigs with no minnows and captain j's blade baits East of K-Can in 13 fow.  Hope the weather cooperates because the official trips start Saturday.

Other reports from charter boats ranged from about our same numbers to a few limit catches from the group of charters I work with.  I hope mother nature decides to give us some stable weather and backs off on the blowing wind.

Here's a couple of shots before the walleye hit the knife and head to the frying pan.

Still have dates open during the month of June.  Call Sweet Escape Charters to book a great Lake Erie Walleye Fishing Charter.

Lake Erie Walleye Fishing Report | Lake Erie Walleye Fishing Charter

Sweet Escape is in the water and getting ready for those walleye. Reports from yesterday were improved catches. I got reports from other captains and recreational boaters anywhere from a couple of fish to 20 walleye.  Walleye were caught in 15 to 17 ft on hair jigs.  Got some organizational work on the boat and helping another captain get his new charter boat ready to go in the water today. Looks like the wind may cause us to stay in close to shore today with reports on winds from 15-25 mph today out of SE. Will report when I get out with catch results.

Walleye Fishing Around the Corner

Jigging for those walleye is quickly approaching.  Made a trip to the Lake the other day and the Lake had a lot of open water.  Marinas are still frozen but shouldn't be very long and they will be open.  Hope the weather breaks and temperatures begin to stay above freezing.  Spring is only a few weeks away and time change is next weekend.  Just had a boat survey done and everything came back great.

Started tying up stinger hooks and trolling leaders last week also.  Can't wait till the boat goes in the water.  Ready for a change, warmer weather, and visits to the camp ground.  Everyone keep praying for the weather to break and temperatures to climb so we can hit the water and chase them hungry walleyes.

For those of you interested, I have a few days open in June during the week.  Give me a call at 419-563-6439 and get your trip booked.  Visit Lake Erie Walleye Charter Fishing to get all the details needed for your great trip to Lake Erie aboard Sweet Escape Charters.

Lake Erie Walleye Fishing Report by Sweet Escape Charters

September 2, 2012,  Another great day of walleye fishing for late summer.  I don't think the walleye action can get any hotter for this time of the season. We caught our limit of 42 walleye just north of b and c-can.  The day finished with a bang.  Only needed 36 walleye for my customers fish. When I made the official cooler count, it was 35 and within the next five minutes we had 42 in the cooler.  Had to recount to make sure we were not over the limit. Wow! What a finish.
The perch fishing was not as great as the previous days.  Only ended up with 65, but the walleye action made up for the lack of perch action.  Come check out the great walleye and perch action on Sweet Escape Charters.

Walleye Charter Fishing on Sweet Escape Charters

September 1, 2012, Had a great trip with the Sayles family.  The perch fishing was great with a limit catch of 180 caught between b-can and c-can.  Walleye fishing was even better.  Caught are 36 walleye just a couple miles north of where we were perch fishing.  It was an outstanding day with an outstanding group of customers. See all of you next year.

Walleye Charter Fishing

The walleye and perch fishing are continuing to remain very good.  Last trip was August 1 and we ended up with 65 perch and a limit of 36 nice walleye.  The perch was a little slow on this day so we decided to go walleye fishing and it was fast and furious.  We caught the 36 walleye in less than 3 hours.  We fished just north of c-can trolling with leads at 60-65 ft using all stinger spoons.  Dipsy's were really good on 1 setting at 45 and 48 and 3 setting at 55 and 58.  There are still a lot of walleye hanging around in the western basin with plenty of bait fish.  I don't see these fish leaving and heading to the central basin.  Fishing should remain great for the remainder of the season.  Still have dates available for the month of September and October. Give me a call and we can get out and enjoy a day chasing walleye and perch on Lake Erie.  Hope to see you soon.  Take a look at the nice walleye below.

Lake Erie Walleye Charter Fishing - Hot July Action!

Hey everyone. The walleye action on Lake Erie's Western Basin is still hot. Many charter boats including myself continue to take limits of walleye. Trolling has been the tactic for success. We have been running leads anywhere from 55-75 ft back using 40 jets and scorpion stinger spoons with speeds varying from 2.0-2.8 mph. Sweet Escape Charters has openings available for the month of July and August. I anticipate the action to stay the same with the numbers of fish present in the b-can area we have been fishing. The presence of numerous baitfish is incredible. Do not hesitate to give me a call (419-563-6439) if interested in catching some great eating walleye.

Sweet Escape Charters Airs on ASO-TV

Got the tape back from a taping of a TV show on Adventure Sports Outdoors.  The show aired on TV in Peoria, Illinois. The taping took place on June 22, 2011, with Harry Canterbury and Bob Siler as the hosts.  It was a great day of fishing and best of all we took a limit of Lake Erie walleye.  Harry was very fortunate to catch a 27 3/4", 9 1/2 lb. walleye, just shy of Fish Ohio.

I want to thank Harry and his company for giving me the opportunity to present my business for everyone to see.  Go check out Adventure Sports Outdoors and visit Lake Erie Walleye Charters to see the show.

Lake Erie Walleye Charter

I went up to Lake Erie yesterday (2/19/2011) to check out the ice situation.  There are no shanties, air boats, or any signs of ice fisherman.  The best sign that I noticed was open water starting to appear.  I think everybody knows what that means.  Lake Erie walleye jig fishing is just around the corner.  Most of the open water was off Miller Ferry area of the South Passage.  I also visited Wild Wings and the ice is still locked in there pretty good.  I talked to an ice guide and he was packing up his stuff and heading home to put it away for the year and get his charter boat ready for spring fishing.  The last stop was to check on the boat.  Sweet Escape was the same as when it was put away in the fall.  Took some things off the trailer that need to be fixed and I will begin working on them this week.  Its great to begin thinking about walleye fishing and stop sitting in the recliner.  Well enough for this post, I got a new fishing rod to order and stinger hooks to finish tying.  Til next time, think warmer temperatures and happy fishing.
